In honor of your new endeavor, I will be doing something I have never done before! I will read a YA book! (Does Christopher Pike count as YA? in that case, I’ve read a TON)

Katie, I live in a very small, conservative town outside of Dallas. (Being from Austin, this is SOOO annoying!) We had parents make a stink about having Twilight in the library. I know, right? It’s ridiculous. Anyways, so I could see the librarian protecting herself (since there are so many parent complaints and whatnot) but I totally know what you mean too, and I appreciate that! (Also, this is a girl who is usually interested in Clifford and very innocent picture books like that, so for her to want a YA book just caught us off guard.)

I tell my teachers up front-I will not tell a kid what they can and cannot read.
