1. I am actually reading The Thorn Birds right now, and it was pretty boring until about 250 pages in when one of the main characters got very descriptively burned alive, and then a few pages after that someone else got gored and crushed by a wild boar.

2. I have been to both Peggy’s Picks (got some pretty salad tongs) and that Aloha shirt place, but tragically missed the Malasadas.
However, you skipped the Rainbow Drive-In, which is a v. fun burger place right there.

3. My best friend lives on Oahu and just moved into a house with a guest room!!!!!

Oh yeah and the manager who used to work in Hawaii that recomended the Puka dogs said that you can have the relish mailed to you house!!! Seriously. He has it shipped all the time. I might have to ask him to order and extra jar of the mango for us to share!!!

Yes Sarah totally shared..and they were TASTY!! And I miss Puka Dogs already..they were so tasty. This is sad cause now Hawaii is like really over, I cannot live it again via blog posts.

Meredith – I will totally go to Surf Camp with you, although it does look like I am a professional, I could use the extra lessons to practice my skills. And to learn how to paddle away faster when mean surfers like Henri are totally coming right at me.

Wow, this was one of the best posts ever!!! I remember seeing malasadas on the food network but I never got to try them in Hawaii . They look so nomers! Did you get one of those stuffed toy malasadas? They are so cute! I also wish we had gotten a chance to go to Waimea canyon. By the time we got to Kaui we were so tired and just wanted to hang at that awesome pool. What a fun trip!

meredith, the older african american dude i mentioned as my benchmate took the picture. he was so nice! like i said, the deliciousness of malasadas really brings people together.

um THAT SURF CAMP LOOKS AMAZING! but do you think there’s a “summer reading by the beach camp” for adults? cos that’s more my speed.
