(extra)ordinary

my life is now complete

you guys.

YOU GUYS.

GUESS WHAT I JUST GOT?!!!!!!

best. present. ever.

A PAIR OF PANTS PANTS!!!!!!!!!

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW!!!!

seriously, my life’s mission has been ACHIEVED. fulfilling career? future family? global cupcake tour? living on the moon? WHO CARES! I GOT MY PANTS PANTS!

these pants were made for me!!! and i mean, literally– by some TOTALLY AWESOME students that i’ve worked with over the past year. to celebrate what has been a truly fabulous year together, i invited them over to henri’s deck for a night of grilling tasty business and hanging out by the pool.

YAY I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

my new pants pants are a testimony to the fact that these students have really gotten to know me, as illustrated by:

1. well, the pants.

2. the use of rhinestones!!!

3. the inclusion of not one but FOUR exclamation points!!!!

y’all i could barely handle myself after i opened up the package cos this gift meant so much to me. i mean, i was totally touched!!!!

however, i somehow managed NOT to unleash my full-out cheesiness (amazing, i know), since a Sarah Squee Burst (patent pending) would automatically cause me to lose any cool points i may have earned in these students’ eyes. and yes, i realize the the operative word here is “may” since my conversations with them are usually peppered with phrases like “icebreakers are so fun!!” and “i really want to *empower* you guys.”

with that said, curbing my squee means that i acted like a normal person receiving a gift, i.e. clutching the pants to my chest and chanting, “OMG I LOVE THESE PANTS! OMG I LOVE THESE PANTS!” that’s normal, er, right?

anyway, it has been an absolute joy to spend the past year with these students, and i’m gonna miss them so much! like, i kind of wish i had a yearbook they could sign. which ha ha is pathetic cos hello i’m 30 years old. but these pants pants? oh man. i am SO buying one of those large frames so i can put the pants pants on my wall like a hard rock cafe. and oooh maybe with a gold plaque too!!!!

ok, i really just did lose all of my cool points, didn’t i?

I DON’T CARE! COS MY PANTS ARE THE PANTS!

LINKS

speaking of dreams come true, GOONIES CAST REUNION!!!!! and guess what? even 24 years later, goonies STILL never say die!

have you guys seen the trailer for “nine”? um YES PLEASE.

also, the trailer for “the road” is out, and yeah, i’m in.

ok, one more trailer and then i’ll stop: i’ve been hearing good things about “precious” for a while, and watching this trailer? i totally cried. after watching the TRAILER. GAH.

an update on the plight of afghan schoolgirls… and unfortunately, it still makes me angry and sad and, most importantly, incredibly inspired by these brave girls!

squee of the day: KISSES FOR MAMA OMGGGGGG.

  3. OKAY. those pants are a great gift BUT does anyone else think that maybe they’d be more awesome if they were like 10 sizes bigger and you could take a photo of them held up next to you and then sell it to a diet program that they might then advertise in SkyMall?

Think about it, Sarah. Just think about it.

eeeee Precious!!! is it wrong to be so excited about something so sad?

  4. erin, i have thought about it, and YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

but only cos then i would have two pairs of pants pants. and i would call one my little pants pants and the other my big pants pants.

then maybe i could get a medium pants pants, and they would be like a family!!!!

  5. Sweet! The best testament to your work, possible!

I used to have a Chinese language teacher that walked around with the word ‘Mango’ on her butt. She made it awesome.
