I love that photo of mama helen and your mom. I can see the Sarah Smile in all three generations now.

I agree about birthdays becoming even more special when someone is gone. Too often we think about what it is to lose someone; birthdays provide us with the rare chance to remember and hold dear what it is to HAVE someone.

What an amazing woman! The glimmer about supporting a friend’s daughter thru college made me tear up a bit. So awesome.

I think it’s great that you still celebrate her birthday.
