after a brief hiatus, my high school journals are BACK, and guess what.
sophomore sarah pants is STILL in love with keanu reeves.
you may also be *shocked* to discover that her taste in movies remains suspect, but not nearly as questionable as her clothing choices.
shopping at sam’s? really? oooooh little sarah pants… how much you have to learn.

Weekend weekend weekend weekend. Friday Friday Friday Friday Friday. Read. Movies read movies read. Sleep sleep sleep sleep sleep sleep. Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu Keanu.
These were the thoughts going through my head today. It was a pretty good day– plus (and this is a big plus) I didn’t have much homework, just Spanish (did it), Algebra (did it) and an English Personal Essay (actually looking forward to doing it) [ed note: NERD ALERT].
We ate Chinese, then I babysat for the Mayers. We watched “The Princess Bride” and “Willie Wonka.” It was so funny– Sarah and Ruth acted just like Fred Savage does in PB: “Is this a kissing part?” “Is this scary?” “This is weird” Then later: “I like this movie!” It was so classic.
And now I shall depart to dreamland. Good night moon!

I woke up at 8:30, and I was very proud. Even though I love sleep, I always feel that if I sleep too late, I’ve wasted half the day.
I tried out the new $5 computer game Dad bought: “Don’t Go Alone.” It was ok, I guess [ed note: check out the AMAZING graphics from this game here]. I got to read my Star Wars too!!! We went out to eat at this little restaurant called Willie’s Icehouse and Grill; it was pretty good. Then we went to the dollar cinema and saw “City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly’s Gold.” It wasn’t as good as the first, but I liked the Godfather parts. I really want to see those movies– not only because of Andy Garcia (and Al Pacino), but because I want to be in on all the jokes I hear about it. I want to quote from it. I want to witness the, um, legacy.
There was an awesome preview for “Speed”!!! I just might have to go to the $1 theater when it comes there and see it (maybe I’d take Keriann and Emily with me). I’m just scared that if I see it too much, the action will become predictable and boring and I’ll get sick of it. But with Keanu in it… nevermind!!
We sent to Sam’s afterwards, and I got a shirt and shorts (some of their stuff is actually cool) and we got Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse.” That’s the soon to be movie that Keanu might be in!!! I had wanted Talena to come over but she was never home. I was saving my Keanu tape for her; I was keeping myself from watching it. But if she doesn’t come over tomorrow… Aunt Margaret’s coming, maybe I’ll show it to her.
Watched “Major League” and “Oscar” on TV. Charlie Sheen had such a cool part in ML. He’s pretty sexy, except when he’s stupid (like in “Hot Shots”). But don’t get jealous, Keanu, you’re still #1!

the whole watchmen thing just got settled, which means it’s still coming out on march 6… the same month as sxsw and my birthday. MY CALENDAR JUST EXPLODED.
AND sam rockwell’s gonna be in iron man 2?!!! hollywood, i’ll buy you a cupcake the next time we hang out.
i might write a whole blog entry about this article next week… oh trailer makers, how you manipulate me!!!
madonna and lourdes… just how i imagined them. “what did you get on yr spirituality test?”
squee of the day: tina fey, don draper (well, kinda) and some smitten mittens!
friday bonus squee: different animals being friends… on video!!!
“He’s pretty sexy, except when he’s stupid” What a great life lesson.
Isn’t this blog just one big Personal Essay (that you presumably look forward to doing, or else you’re *very* self-disciplined)?
i STILL like personal essays. i’m about to fill out an application for this summer professional development thing that involves writing, and i’m kind of stupidly excited about it.
Where was I? Why was I never home? I don’t remember these things. And since your memory is always suspect I’m thrilled you documented all of our wacky adventures. I imagine that at some point I saw the infamous Keanu tape.
My mom still tries to buy me clothes from Sam’s and CostCo.
Don’t feel weird about your former foray into the wardrobe options offered at Sam’s Club. I once bought a black jean jacket with the logo for “Phantom of the Opera” on the back, at Burlington Coat Factory, and had to BEG to get to have that gem.
I also agree with you on your “City Slickers 2″ assessment. Good, but not as good as the first.
Lucky Talena, that you’d actually save the Keanu tape for her to watch with you. (I’m not being sarcastic. That’s the sign of a good friend.)
If anyone in the world came up to me and told me something designed to “tug on my ovaries,” he (or she) would wind up with my fist in his (or her!) face. SERIOUSLY? Although, to prove the trailer-makers’ point, I must say that the only thing which would convince me to ever watch a Renee Z. vehicle is shoe-lust. But only if the entire movie was just shots of different shoes. Which would ALSO keep the camera away from Renee’s face!!!! Everyone wins!
I counted, and that was nine Keanu references in one journal entry. I’ve started my own Dear Diary Pants drinking game. So how do you feel about Mr. Reeves in Cowboy BeBop? Can’t argue with how right he looks for the role.
huh, that trailer article is pretty awful. They sound 0like sterotypical admen. I think the bigger sin, besides being obnoxious assholes is that they didn’t turn their filter on. You’re talking to a reporter or a member of the public. Tone the swarm down by 10 notches.
I’ve always been kind of fascinated by trailer cutting though. It’s interesting to watch how manipulative they can be. Have you seen the Shining trailer hack on You Tube that turns it into a comedy? If you didn’t know, you could buy that that’s what it is. Throw a little Salisbury Hill into the mix and some smiles and the terrifying turns into the terrific! (ok, toning down the advertiser in me)
The only reason I’m vaguely interested in that new Zellweger movie is that I hae a habit of seeing anything that was shot in Minnesota no matter how bad (I saw Joe Somebody at the dollar theater and I bought a $2 used DVD of it at one point). I do the same thing with Colorado movies (what few there are) and I’m sure I’ll end up doing the same thing with Austin movies.
