dear diary pants: “never in my wildest dreams”

today’s diary entry definitely ranks as one of my favorites of all time, for the following reasons:

1. olive garden is mentioned.

2. yes, josh, my fine taste in film continues.

3. totally embarrassing romanticism.

4. i have a dream… about keanu!!!

5. and, last but not least… well, let’s just say a v. pressing question is finally resolved!

note: mama helen = my grandmother; scott = my uncle scott.

8/1/94

How can it already be the first day of August? We ate at the Olive Garden [ed note: holla!], then went to see “Angels in the Outfield.” It turned out to be a lot better than I thought! Scott loved it because of the baseball, and Mama Helen loved the angel part. Everyone was satisfied.

And guess what– you will never believe it! Never in my wildest dreams!!! I inquired about the “Speed” poster at the movies, and the guy (name’s David) said I could have it, but it might be yucky cause it’s been outside, etc. Then I asked about the cardboard cut-out huge display (the one I joked about getting from AMC) and he said I could probably have it (and he might find another poster)! Mama Helen will call on Friday afternoon. I’m trying not to get my hopes up– they’ve been dashed before. Even so, this is so cool!!!

I was in a romantic mood, so I watched “Dirty Dancing.” Like it would ever really happen! It’s almost like Keanu and me getting together (age difference, etc) [ed note: the main obstacle is age difference? really?]. But I guess that’s why it’s so great.

By the way, a couple of days ago I had this dream about a princess, and her dad wanted her to marry this prince, so the king made him look like he had magical powers. But the princes fell in love with this other guy (I don’t know if he was a servant or nobleman) and he was Keanu Reeves! Throughout the dream I was the onlooker, until, just before I woke up, I became the princess. I was walking down the hall, surrounded by servants (they were kind of dwarves, and it was like we were marching in a procession) and he passed, and I looked into his eyes, and he into mine, and we just stared as we kept on walking. It was like we exchanged something– a message or a piece of ourselves. It was like love at first sight.

Then, of course, I had to wake up. But that’s good, in a way, because the last part of the dream is always the freshest.

finally!! the poster for step up 3-D is out!!!! yesssss. many thanks to both erin d. and trish for pointing out this major development in the production of the most highly anticipated movie OF MY ENTIRE LIFE (rivaled only by harry potter). but this poster raises some questions– is robert hoffman returning? cos the poster features a photo from step up 2, but imdb doesn’t have this movie on his resume… you guys, these are the questions that HAUNT ME.

trish also sent me the ultimate combination of food and squee: a place setting created by a five-year-old girl. apparently, we share the same priorities when it comes to mac ‘n’ cheese, which i’m sure doesn’t surprise you.

  1. I was totally an extra in Angels in the Outfield. That’s probably why you liked it so much.

  2. i love how, in all of these entries, you’re all “yeah right, like keanu and i could EVER hook up.” and we all know that, secretly, you’re hoping.

  3. I really like that place setting. I especially like that all the different foods are on different plates. She is going to LOVE tapas.

  4. Oh, what a cliffhanger! You have been promised the poster, but will you get it? The suspense!
I’m loving the Keanu obsession, and am also finding it a little “meta” when you are making fun of your own “main obstacle” with your Keanu love.

  5. wow, not just a poster but a STANDUP. I can’t even imagine how excited young Sarah would be. BTW, that new Killers single is still stuck in my head and I blame you for mentioning that it was out there. Man they can write a hook.
