dear diary pants: “partygoer, boy magnet, wearer of polo shirts”

in today’s entry, we learn the following about adolescent sarah p:

1. she creates well constructed plans to avoid social awkwardness.

2. she believes that if she had sisters, she would be a lot more date-able.

3. her definition of cool includes going to parties and wearing polo shirts.

4. she tries to be thankful for and deserving of the good things in her life (which kinda melted this older version of sarah’s heart).

Had a slight “scandal” in summer school today. Kevin, who is a head banger, decided to ask Rachel out. We thought we had ended the situation when Melissa, the messenger, who was supposed to ask Rachel if she liked Kevin, asked me instead, and I told her that she liked this guy Cody in NC (true– she met him at Writing Camp) and would say no if asked.

Actually, this was a well constructed plan, but Kevin didn’t know it. Even with this info, he decided to ask her out anyway. Yikes! Melissa and I were the only ones that knew, but we didn’t tell Rachel [ed note: dude, we were totally bad friends!]. Then Jonathan told Se, who spilled the beans. Rachel finally confronted Kevin at the end of the day and told him the friends, etc. explanation. I know she felt guilty, but I know she did the right thing.

Melissa is so neato! She goes to JV– she came to PE the second semester– I befriended her in tennis. She has so much luck with guys! Which I think comes from the fact she has a big family– four sisters! Anyway, she paid me the nicest, most wonderful compliment. She said, “Sarah, I want to be you.” Oh my gosh!!! Here she is, popular, partygoer, boy magnet, wearer of polo shirts, and she wants to be me?! She said I was always happy (weeell…) and always having fun, and did everything with all of my friends. I think that was God’s way of telling me how great a life I have– how blessed I am. And that my efforts to be a new and better person are maybe working. Wow!

i know i’ve already used this picture, but i’m posting it again cos this post helped me to identify the mystery girl in the middle– party-going, polo-wearing melissa!

Babysat for Walter and Danny. Walter sure is a good kid. In order to get Danny to be quiet and sleep, he got in the crib with him! Thank you Walter!

moody posted his casting choices for the next batman, and i give them my full endorsement, with one addition. i mean, if you’re gonna pick dan, you have GOT to add in chuck bass as a villain. he’s so cool, he could even take on batman.

this video is called “magic flashlight,” and is pretty much as awesome as it sounds.

Moody, excellent casting list! Especially Crispin Glover, well done. If they cast Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, I will VOMIT TEARS. Could there be a more obvious, blah, boring choice? Rachel McAdams would be MUCH better, although I also think Eva Green could rock it.

High School Sarah, gah, you are just the cutest thing ever. Any news on the Speed poster? Don’t leave us in suspense!

I just can’t get over how precocious you were, according to these diary entries at least! Were we all like that? Or are you just awesome?

  3. 3 Moody

Meredith I believe Eva Green may be a better choice for Catwoman. And Sarah in my experience having an older sibling doesn’t necessarily help with getting more dates.

  4. 4 Angela

Moody, I agree that having an older sibling doesn’t help with getting dates. My older sister was generally smarter and cooler than I was. She used to sit on me, and hated it when I tried to hang out with her and her friends. Though apparently if you have a sibling of the opposite sex it may not help you attract dates, but it’s supposed to help you be a better significant other when you do. The theory is that if you grow up with siblings of the opposite gender then you have a deeper understanding of the other gender and know how to deal with them better.

I didn’t think the new Batman script had even been written yet. Just from what little I know, all rumors (Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, Johnny Depp as The Riddler, even Philip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin) are just that…rumors. Though I would love to see PSH as Penguin, and I agree that Crispin Glover would be an awesome Riddler, all I really want is for the next Batman movie to just keep up the level of quality.

Ooh, not only do we share doughnut preferences but also a penchant for school gossip back in the day! Oh the memories this brought back. :-)

Well, I’m partial in that I am obsessed with McGosling both as individuals and the collective. You could tell me that they want to cast her in the Strom Thurmond biopic, and I’d be all about it.
Yeah, Sarah! When do we find out about the “Speed” poster? I’ve been pulling for Teen Sarah to get one. It makes me want to go on ebay, win one, and invent a time machine to give it to her. (Two out of three of those things are easy, one is hard. The hard one being winning an ebay auction.)
