The Owlmanac still doesn’t know that Julia and I are married. Maybe, in honor of our upcoming third anniversary, we should tell them. But then, why rush things? We only finished our photo albums a few months ago.

As for frosting shots, they have them at Cupcake Jones in Portland. I have to admit, I found myself thinking, “Forgive me, but that’s too much.” And I say this as a person who really is all about the frosting on a cupcake. But you have to have some cake for balance! To me, the more important advance in sucrology that I discovered at that store was the filled cupcake — in my case, scooped out and filled with chocolate ganache. This solves the problem of a really boring cupcake bottom, without completely doing away with the cake. Balance.
