Yes! The official picture! They *make* you stand like that. The photographer told Sarah where to put her hands on the cobra’s stand, then told me to hold her hips like that. And from there, I couldn’t stop laughing at the awesomeness.

I love love LOVE that framed ‘official’ picture of you two. Henri, are you hamming on purpose? Because it’s awesome. It’s the kind of portrait you see in houses inhabited by married couples who like to put leopard print EVERYWHERE.

Readers, don’t be fooled by Sarah’s enthusiasm for the three egg/two egg trick. She repeatedly scoffed, “What is this? I’m not clapping for that. This is crap.” throughout our intrepid magician’s routine. Although maybe that was just an ILLLLLUSION.

Oh my god. Becky, I NEED to hear that entire story.

And yeah, Randy, I totally had a blast. I’d already had actually fancy dinners earlier in the week, and we get to do that every once in a while anyway, so doing something so completely crazy like Magic Island made the entire night sooooooo memorable. And personally, memorability is the most important thing for me on birthdays and New Year’s Eves. Not tragic memories, obviously, but things where you *know* that you’ll be able to remember last year when you’re celebrating the next birthday. And with a Magic Island birthday? You’ll never ever forget it!

Seriously, I thought this place shut down a long time ago. I’m pretty sure that some people at Creek went there for prom back when all of the letters were still attached to the building.

I’m not sure how I would feel if I spent my birthday there, but it appears as if Henri was thoroughly enjoying himself. So . . . Happy Magical Birthday Henri!
