it’s valentine’s day!!!!!

happy valentine pants, everybody!!!!!

so, i know that valentine’s is a commercial holiday, and that it makes people feel bad about themselves and feel like they have to do something amazing or romantic and that it just supports hallmark and candy companies, blah blah BLAH.

BUT I DON’T CARE!!!!

I LOVE VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!!!!

and i have good reasons, ok?

first of all, valentine’s day floods me with memories of paper bags, decorated with paper doilies and red construction paper hearts, crammed with scooby doo and peanuts valentines. growing up, valentine’s day meant you could probably get away with eating candy IN CLASS *AND* there was an extremely high likelihood that someone would give you at least one cupcake.

that’s a preeeetty convincing reason, i know, but i’ll give you a few more, as a bonus.

second, i am a cheesy pants. as you all know. so i jump, in fact, LEAP at the chance to tell people I LOVE YOU and send cards and spend the day thinking about all the loves in my life. LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE. and it’s not just about having a significant other. it’s about ALL the people you love… and not just people!

for example, i love kittens. so here is an incredibly adorable, tiny kitten for you to enjoy, with me, on valetine’s day (thanks, moody, for the link!). see? isn’t that fun?!

i also love keri russell. and babies. so when meredith sent me this picture, i told her it was one of the v. best valentines i have ever seen:

i think of valentine’s day as just another reason to appreciate all of the things that make me happy/excited/squee.

a third reason (and this is a good one) is that i love the color pink. i know it’s cliché, but i do. valentine’s gives me an EXCELLENT reason to wear as much pink as possible. although it’s not like i *need* another reason, so maybe it’s just about seeing OTHER people in pink. yeah, that’s it! FYI i am wearing pink tights today.

a fourth reason is that i go out to dinner on valentine’s, and i ALWAYS love going out to dinner.

a fifth reason is that i get to eat lots of sugar… and tomorrow i’m going to post pictures of all of the treats that have found a home in my tummy today! i would post them today, but i forgot my camera. sorry.

anyway, i hope this isn’t an incredibly annoying post to read. i just really love today! and i love you guys! and if i could give all of you a muppets valentine with a candy heart attached in a little envelope with yr name on it written in red pen, i so would.

sxsw has totally changed the whole wristband system. i’m not sure how i feel about it…

the new indiana jones trailer is out… and i’m not sure how i feel about it, either. but OBVS i’ll be seeing the movie anyway.

the big winner from the westminster dog show was on martha stewart– he’s the cutest!

just in time for v-day, a court has overturned the sex toy ban in texas!
