in case you haven’t noticed, IT’S OCTOBER. in complete ignorance of the hot weather and stubbornly green trees, i have declared it fall. IT IS FALL. and fall means one v. important thing:

that’s right, you can purchase yr v. own mellowcreme pumpkins!!!!!! for a limited time only!!!!

i’ve waxed poetic about these extremely amazing pieces of sugary business for the last few years, but i must tell you about a startling new discovery i made over the weekend:

you can buy mellowcreme pumpkins FRESH. from BINS. sure, sure, brach’s is great and readily available (what more can i really ask?), but people. PEOPLE. i bought some mellowcremes at central market, from a candy bin, and they are FRESHER THAN WILL SMITH. it’s like going from canned green beans to pulling them off the plant in yr garden and popping them in yr mouth (well, after washing them, obvs).

you are gonna have to pay for the freshness, so keep in mind that these mellowcremes are not for extensive sharing. i’m sorry, but it’s the truth.

guess guess guess what!!!! i got a new job!!!!!!! i’m staying at UT (so i can keep working on my masters), and i’m moving over to the school of architecture. i don’t want to say too much about it in this highly public forum, but i think it’s a step in the right direction. i’ll have a bit more responsibility, a bit more stimulation and WINDOWS! sweet sweet windows.

i start in two weeks.

so thank you for all of yr advice and encouragement… i’m excited. and i think i’ll be less grumpy/irritated/rude/hungry. ha ha just kidding i’ll always be hungry like a hippo.

i’ve got some faboo new photos up on my flickr. i’d like to share with you a series from the dinner that lizzie cooked for me, henri, josh, tim, matt and karim while she was in town. as you’ve probably seen on her blog, she facilitated the creation of chocolate bowls with balloons. however, lizzie is used to dealing with students in her cooking classes, so she perhaps did not realize that. in this case, she was dealing with unskilled labor. chocolate chaos insued (and honestly, isn’t it better that way?).
