a little piece of magic on youtube

giant marionettes + holiday weekends + the scent of change = cartwheels

so– as i’m sure you know– it’s all about youtube right now. a month ago, henri put the treadmill video by ok go on an alamo pre-show, and the audience was totally surprised and delighted. last night, the band performed their act live on the mtv video music awards.

uh, hello, that’s some cray cray fast fame.

the other night, henri, j. (who’s in town from san francisco) and i spent like two hours watching youtube videos on henri’s projector. we performed the following searches:

“broken bones”
“compound fracture”
“falling off roof”
“boy fall roof ouch hurt accident”
“trampoline accident” this video, which is really just awesome.
“broken bones trampoline”
“teenage girls dancing”
“drunk girls”
“disney sex”

all of that was, of course, v. amusing, but NONE of it compares with a video i just read about this morning on an art blog. HOLY CRAY this is the COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN.

coincidentally, it’s also one of the creepiest. and yet, most beautiful.

here’s a photo to give you a hint:

now watch it. and then marvel at the fact that along with the music videos, kitty movies and jackassic stunts, youtube also brings you a most startling yet delicate gem of beauty. oh internet you are a joy to me.

p.s. my favorite part is when the big girl plays with the little ones.
p.p.s. thanks for all yr helpful comments re: switching blogs. i’m still mulling it over.
