i’m dj-ing two shows this week on kvrx during TIMES WHEN YOU WILL BE AWAKE (unless you’re a total granny, and i don’t mean the boomin’ kind):
tonight (monday): 7-8 PM
wednesday (wednesday): 9-11 PM
and get this: if you don’t live in austin, you can listen ONLINE!
you can even submit requests online which really is v. democratic.
last sunday was my last 3-5 AM shift (thank you sweet fancy moses), but i found out that people actually listen! one of the dudes from white denim (see above) emailed me cos he heard me play one of their songs, and he’s sending me a t-shirt & cd! it’s like, the sweet sweet fruit of my labor!
speaking of sweet, last thursday amy campbell and i caught harry & the potters (with draco & the malfoys opening) at the park by the downtown library. it was AWESOME. here are the two guys in the band (harry, year 4 & harry, year 7):
even when it’s over 100 degrees, they wear sweaters. THAT’S how hardcore they are.
i bought a frickin’ awesome t-shirt at the show that looks like this:
you can listen to a few of their songs on myspace and laugh geekily at all of the HP references that all of yr magic-hating friends won’t get (yeah! losers!).
in other news, i’m seriously considering quitting my job, but i don’t have another one. where can a gal find a job around here? eh?
